Lone Star Ag Credit Celebrates National Ag Day at Fort Worth Office

FORT WORTH, Texas – In honor of National Ag Day on March 18, Lone Star Ag Credit is celebrating the community's agricultural heritage in an open house at its Fort Worth credit office.

The free public reception will take place from 4-5:30 p.m. March 18 at the lending cooperative's Fort Worth credit office at 1612 Summit Ave., Suite 325.

National Ag Day is a nationwide celebration of agriculture's vital role in our society. The theme of the 42nd annual event is "Agriculture: Sustaining Future Generations."

Established by the nonprofit Agriculture Council of America, National Ag Day is a nationwide celebration that raises awareness about:

  • How food and fiber products are produced
  • The role agriculture plays in providing safe, abundant and affordable products
  • The essential role of agriculture in maintaining a strong economy
  • The career opportunities in the agriculture, food and fiber industry

Lone Star Ag Credit serves 48 counties in North Central Texas and provides financing for rural land, rural homes, agribusinesses, livestock, and agricultural equipment and operating expenses. Part of the Farm Credit System, a nationwide network of agricultural and rural lending cooperatives, Lone Star is headquartered in Fort Worth and has credit offices in Abilene, Cleburne, Corsicana, Denton, Fort Worth, Hillsboro, Lampasas, Mount Pleasant, New Boston, Paris, Round Rock, Sherman, Stephenville, Sweetwater, Temple, Waco and Weatherford.

Several Lone Star Ag Credit offices are celebrating National Ag Day by hosting open houses or public ceremonies and offering ag-themed giveaways.
