Lone Star Ag Credit Celebrates National Ag Day

National Ag Day

Fort Worth, Texas – Coming up on March 18, 2015, National Ag Day will be celebrated across our nation. Lone Star Ag credit will host events locally across its Texas region.

"Agriculture: Sustaining Future Generations" is the 2015 National Ag Day theme. "This theme goes hand in hand with what Farm Credit was chartered to do. Lone Star Ag Credit has been and continues to serve as a lender to generations of Agriculturists" Troy Bussmeir, Chief Executive Officer said.

The National Ag Day program encourages every American to:

  • Understand how food and fiber products are produced
  • Appreciate the role agriculture plays in providing safe, abundant and affordable products
  • Value the essential role of agriculture in maintaining a strong economy
  • Acknowledge and consider career opportunities in the agriculture, food and fiber industry

This event was established 42 years ago by the Agriculture Council of America, a non-profit organization of leaders in the agriculture, food and fiber community.

Lone Star Ag Credit, which is part of the nationwide Farm Credit System, supports the goal of National Ag Day which is to promote awareness of the impact of Agriculture and its role in modern society.
