Throckmorton Graduate Receives Scholarship from Lone Star Ag Credit

FORT WORTH, Texas – Lanham Brown of Throckmorton is one of six recipients of a 2015 scholarship from Lone Star Ag Credit. Brown and the other winners each received a $2,500 scholarship.

Brown is a recent graduate of Throckmorton High School. He plans to attend Texas Tech University next fall. Throughout his high school career in Throckmorton he was a member of a state championship football team, served in leadership roles in both FFA and 4-H as well as sat on the board of the Chamber of Commerce. Brown served the community in many ways by volunteering at sports camps for kids, Christmas Angels, serving meals at the Faith Mission Homeless Shelter and participating in Planet Agriculture at the West Texas State Fair. He is also a member of The Christian Center, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, Texas Junior Red Angus Association and the Ranch Horse Association of America.

Lone Star Ag Credit provides financing for rural land, rural homes, agribusinesses, livestock, agricultural equipment and operating expenses. It is headquartered in Fort Worth and has credit offices in Abilene, Cleburne, Corsicana, Denton, Fort Worth, Hillsboro, Lampasas, Mount Pleasant, New Boston, Paris, Round Rock, Sherman, Stephenville, Sweetwater, Temple, Waco and Weatherford. The lending organization is a part of the nationwide Farm Credit System.
