Dublin March of Dimes Fundraiser: Another Success

DUBLIN, Texas – Lone Star Ag Credit, a rural lending cooperative, showed its ongoing commitment to supporting the March of Dimes as sponsor of a recent fundraiser that was also hosted by one of its employees on her family farm in Dublin. Known as Memphis' March, the event is a 1-mile fun run and 5K event where 100 percent of the proceeds from the race goes to March of Dimes. Now in its fourth year, the event got its name from a Dublin couple, Matt and Brittany Magin, who lost their baby, Memphis Rein Magin, at only 25 weeks old. The March of Dimes reached out to the Magins in their time of need, and in turn the couple made a commitment to help other babies by establishing the March of Dimes event in Memphis' name. The Magins, along with Greens Creek Methodist Church and Greens Creek Baptist Church, coordinated this year's fundraiser, while Lone Star Ag Credit's Senior Marketing Manager Julie Porter Mayfield and family provided the location. In addition, other Lone Star staff members participated in the event. "This is a great opportunity to serve members of our church community and beyond," said Mayfield. "This year's contribution to the March of Dimes brings the total raised for the foundation over the past four years to $33,000!" Lone Star Ag Credit provides financing for agricultural and recreational real estate, rural homes, agricultural equipment, livestock, ag operating expenses and agribusiness firms. Headquartered in Fort Worth, it has credit offices in Abilene, Cleburne, Corsicana, Denton, Fort Worth, Hillsboro, Lampasas, Mount Pleasant, New Boston, Paris, Round Rock, Sherman, Stephenville, Sweetwater, Temple, Waco and Weatherford.
